As I lay in bed last night I pondered the idea of Christ’s return. The idea is exciting to me because it will finally put to rest the idea of religion. It isn’t that I am against religion as a practice however; I find the idea to be secular but also polarizing. I will explain but first let me warn you that this is not going to become some sort of platform for my spiritual feelings or that I am going to further post my spiritual experiences.
I have found it hard to put into words how I think the last days will be or the return of the Savior because of I have lacked a simile to regard it to. However, this is the closest thus far I have come. Imagine the idea of soldiers in the trenches in say WWII. Or even WWI the war does not matter. The idea is that you have several people all in battle all for different personal reasons but all under the ideal at patriotism. The idea that what they are doing is going to be the correct future. These individuals are willing to sacrifice what ever the cost for this cause. However, their sacrifice is not what I intend to be the main focus of this thought.
What is the focus is that they are all different. Some are highly educated and understand the mission in its fullness others are mere foot soldiers working there for the simple idea of democracy. To expound on who they are and what brought them there would take far more time than I am willing to commit, nonetheless picture you favorite war movie and the characters in that movie. This thought will suffice for this exercise.
When the Savior returns I view that the racial lines will be blurred such as it is in battle. The arguments, and daily squabbles will disappear and all will be set aside for the common goal of survival and the success of the mission. At the return of the Savior we will be setting aside our names and titles for the common goal of the fulfillment of times. The single banner that will bring us together will be the love of the Savior and that will be what drives us to commit to or run from his embrace.
The names and figures that have driven us apart for so long will no longer exist. There will simply be those who follow and those who do not. Will it be important to have a name like Catholic, Jew or Mormon – NO. What will matter is where you fall on the line of fire.
Ridding the fence is not an option in a fox hole and neither will it be in this time. The endless squabbles that have given the adversary an unchecked play ground will no longer be afforded and all will have to make a choice.
Quote of the day:
If reincarnation is true, I want to come back as one of those plastic bobble-head dolls. So, when I sit at my desk doing nothing but jiggling my head back and forth like I do every day at work, people would find my inactivity cute and charming.
